Established in 2023, Monochrome GT4 Australia is one of the country’s newest premier categories. Delivering entertaining racing, the series features some of the world’s most iconic sports car brands, including BMW, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, Audi, Ford, Toyota and Ginetta. The Motorsport Australia affiliated series offers a competitive platform for both up-and-coming talent and experienced racers.

Monochrome GT4 Australia features GT4 race cars, ensuring a level playing field with strict performance balancing (BoP) to maintain close, competitive racing across a diverse range of manufacturers. The series includes three classes - Silver, Silver-Am, and Am - catering to various levels of experience and skill.

With a growing fanbase, increasing manufacturer involvement, and serving as a stepping stone to the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and other top-level categories, the series has become a key part of Australia’s motorsport landscape.

IN 2025, the category enjoyed record entries as it raced exclusively on the Shannon SpeedSeries, which was run by SRO Motorsports Australia and Motorsport Australia in a new joint venture. Visiting some of the best tracks in the country, including Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Sydney Motorsport Park and Queensland Raceway, while also going across the Tasman Sea for the season ending at GT Festival Hampton Downs.

The season culminated in an epic finale in New Zealand as Tom Hayman and Max Geoghegan secured the Silver Cup by one point over George Miedecke and Rylan Gray, while Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall secured the Silver-Am Cup in the penultimate race of the season alongside back-to-back Am Cup Champion Jacob Lawrence.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026, record numbers are once again on the cards as the grid starts to fill up for the six-round season, which kicks off at Phillip Island Grand Prix for the Shannons SpeedSeries. Visits to The Bend and Queensland Raceway precede a historic event at Darwin’s Hidden Valley before the penultimate round at Sydney Motorsport Park sets up the finale at Sandown.
