Monochrome GT4 Australia classes will be decided at the Bathurst International this weekend, with the Silver and Pro-Am Cups will be up for grabs.
Silver Cup has been a McLaren versus Ford battle all-season. Method Motorsport’s Marcos Flack and Tom Hayman hold a 25-point advantage, which is equivalent to those awarded for a race win.
Chasing the McLaren duo is the Miedecke Motorsport Ford Mustang GT4 of George Miedecke and Rylan Gray. The pair have endured bad luck recently, but did take the Mustang GT4’s first victory worldwide at the opening round in April.
To take the title, the Miedecke Motorsport crew must clean-sweep the weekend in Silver Cup as there is four entries this weekend.
All Flack and Hayman have to do is finish both races.
The Pro-Am Cup fight is complete as Shane Smollen and Lachlan Mineeff in the Method Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman CS RS secured the title in qualifying.
Closest rivals Ryder Quinn and Steve Jakic in the Black Diamond Building and Construction BMW must clean-sweep the weekend, which fell short when the pair failed to score pole positions.
The Am driver in the winning pairing will receive a custom designed championship ring valued at $12,000 from category supporter Mark Cotterell Master Jeweller.
Even then, the BMW will level the points and still lose the title on count back.
The Am Cup title was decided in Sydney Motorsport Park, so congratulations to Jacob Lawrence for Randall Racing on securing his maiden national motor racing crown.
However, still up for grabs will be the BRM V12 watch again provided by Mark Cotterell Master Jeweller for the winner of Am Cup, which features the largest entry this round.
