Ryder Quinn sets the pace in final Bathurst practice session

The Black Diamond Building and Construction BMW M4 GT4 G82 of Ryder Quinn has set the pace in the final practice session of the season finale at the Bathurst International.

Quinn set the fastest time of the day on his final flying lap, a 2m 15.369s in the Pro-Am Cup BMW to be shared by Steve Jakic.

Lochie Dalton led the opening session earlier, but had to settle for second in the Buckby Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4. Sharing the entry with fellow Tasmanian Ben Newman, Dalton was just 0.456s off Quinn’s benchmark.

Silver Cup was led by the Central West Prestige BMW M4 GT4 G82 of Cody Burcher and Tim Leahey from the class leading Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 of Marcos Flack and Tom Hayman.

In between the two leading Silver Cup entries was the third placed Pro-Am Cup entry of Lachlan Mineeff and Shane Smollen in the Method Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman RS CS.

Jake Camilleri led the Silver Cup runners for much of the session until the closing stages when he dropped to third in the Gomersall Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall’s Ford Mustang GT4 was seventh from debutants Ramu Farrell and Andrew Georgiadis in the TekworkX Porsche, which led the Am Cup entries.

Randall Racing’s Jamie Augustine and Peter Lawrence were second in Am Cup ahead of Anthony Soole in the Property Investment Store McLaren 570s GT4 to be co-driven by Grant Denyer.

Zoe Woods and Daniel Jilesen rounded out the Pro-Am runners in the TekworkX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman CS RS.

Leading the remainder of the field was the second Randall Racing BMW of Jacob Lawrence and John Bowe, Anthony Levitt driving the Method Motorsport McLaren, Tony Quinn’s Game Over Porsche, the Team Nineteen Mercedes-AMG of Mark Griffith and Rob Rubis in the sole Ginetta G56 GT4.

Two entries were missing from the session as the Miedecke Motorsport/Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang encountered gearbox problems and the Zagame Autosport McLaren failed to re-emerge after getting stuck in the Murray’s Corner gravel trap during the opening session.

Qualifying is up next for the Monochrome GT4 Australia season finale at Bathurst at 7:40pm tomorrow morning.
