GT4 DEBRIEF: Monochrome GT4 Australia completes landmark maiden season

It proved a spectacular maiden standalone Monochrome GT4 Australia season, which finished at the Bathurst International.

Numbers grew as the season progressed and an exciting future lay ahead of the formula in Australia.

Here are some of the highlights from the season finale.

Method Motorsport complete stunning debut season

The Chaz Mostert-led Method Motorsport conquered in its first season of Monochrome GT4 Australia by winning the Silver and Pro-Am Cups in two different models. Young guns Marcos Flack and Tom Hayman sealed the Silver Cup title in the McLaren Artura GT4 after fighting the challenges of the Midecke Mustang. For Shane Smollen, it was back-to-back titles as his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS RS shared by Lachlan Mineeff delivered the Pro-Am Cup.

Stellar maiden campaign for Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang GT4 hadn’t won a race until George Miedecke and Rylan Gray crossed the line first at the opening round at Phillip Island. It was a momentous occasion highlighted by Ford’s Global boss Jim Farley calling Miedecke up to congratulate him on the achievement. Miedecke Motorsport led the development of the Mustang GT4 from then on and another has joined the Monochrome GT4 Australia ranks successfully. The team was awarded the Australia and New Zealand agency for Multimatic.

Randall Racing’s leads the field

Although an Am Cup frontrunner, Randall Racing impressed in its first season as a team thanks to its growing professionalism. Always presenting two immaculate BMW M4 GT4 G82s throughout the season, the squad also added a proper transporter to its arsenal by mid-season and Jacob Lawrence took the Am Cup title with a round to spare. Co-driver missed a round and was second, with Lawrence’s father Peter rounded out the Am Cup podium for the season.

Anthony Soole and Grant Denyer’s first Am Cup win

Property Investment Solutions tasted victory for the first time in its second round proving the previous models can be competitive. Anthony Soole drafted in Bathurst local and experienced racer Grant Denyer for the final round, with proving a masterstroke. Denyer carved his way through the Am Cup field in the opener to guide the McLaren 570s GT4 to victory. The team is ready for a full-time assault in 2025.
