The first Ford Mustang GT4 in the southern hemisphere will make its debut this weekend at the Ford Mustang 60 Years Race Phillip Island, in the hands of experienced racer George Miedecke and Super2 Rookie Star Rylan Gray.
Proudly supported by quality Australian Lubricant company Lubrimaxx and Andrew Miedecke Ford, the #35 Mustang GT4 will stir the hearts of red-blooded racing fans everywhere as its distinctive 5.0 V8 takes to the Island this weekend.
“I’ve been associated with Ford for decades across my racing career” Andrew Miedecke enthused.
“And this new Ford Mustang speaks to me, the engineering and build quality is amazing. Multimatic have built a car that is designed to be economical to run, easy to repair and I think will suit the driving styles of Aussie racing drivers.”
Entered in the ultra-competitive Silver Cup class of Monochrome GT4 Australia, George and Rylan Gray make one of the more competitive pairings announced for 2024.
“I haven’t stopped grinning since we confirmed this program” smiled George. “I love racing V8s and as Dealer Principal of our successful Ford dealership this makes so much sense. Coming off winning the Bathurst 6 Hour I feel like I am driving as well as I have in a long time, and to be paired with Rylan is exciting. I’m also proud to be renewing my partnership with Lubrimaxx, a brand that first supported me 17 years ago now.”
Rylan Gray, son of successful racer Jeremy, has hit the headlines this year as the top-placed Rookie at the opening round of the 2024 Super2 Series at Bathurst and is poised to have a successful year.
“When the opportunity came up I grabbed it with both hands!” Rylan said.
“We’ve been friends with the Miedecke family for a long time and we all get along so well. Competitive racing in a car as nice as the new Ford GT4 is always helpful for my development and I’m sure it will pay dividends in the Super2 car. I’ve previously driven a GT4 at the Nürburgring so I know what I’m in for – and I can’t wait!”
