Loves link up with TCR frontrunners for Monochrome GT4 Australia assault

Rob and Bailey Love will return to Monochrome GT4 Australia in 2025 for a full-assault and will be backed by TCR Australia race-winning organisation Team Soutar Motorsport.

Love Racing entered two Mercedes-AMG GT4s for a majority of the season in 2024 for what was the team’s first taste of national motor racing.

The two Loves paired together for the first time at the inaugural GT Festival at Phillip Island after teaming with Sam Brabham and Antonio Astuti. The father-son combination stood on the podium multiple times by season’s end, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Bathurst International.

This season marks a shift for the Loves, as not only will it downsize to a sole Mercedes-AMG GT4, but joins Team Soutar Motorsport’s newly expanded program for 2025.

Team Soutar Motorsport is a family-run operation led by Zac Soutar and father Shane, which nearly achieved title success in last year’s TCR Australia Series.

Working together for the first time at a Sandown test last month, the Loves and Team Soutar Motorsport came away from it confident of strong results this season.

This program represents Team Soutar Motorsport’s first involvement in Monochrome GT4 Australia and there will be further news to come regarding further expansion in due course.

The opening round of Monochrome GT4 Australia will commence at Phillip Island on April 4-6 as part of a stacked Shannons SpeedSeries roster.

Tickets for the season opener can be purchased at speedseries.com.au.

Zac Soutar,
Owner, Team Soutar Motorsport

“I’m really excited to have Love Racing through Bailey and Rob Love as a part of Team Soutar Motorsport in 2025,” said Soutar.

“I’ve known Bailey and Rob now for many years. I’ve watched their progression from road cars to GT4 and I was able to see what they achieved last year, which was fantastic. To be having the Loves as part of our team this year as part of our expansion is a dream come true and I’m really excited to see what we can achieve together.

“We decided to do a warmup at Sandown a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time working with the Loves as well as a Mercedes-AMG GT4. The weekend couldn’t have gone any more smoothly, Bailey and Rob drove superbly as they continued to improve every session. Hopefully this set the tone for Phillip Island and the rest of the year.

“It was great to work with Rob and Bailey doing a bit of driver coaching then also discussing how the car felt, items they felt we could improve on behind the wheel, it’s good to draw on the last three or four years experience to help them progress their own driving.”
