Monochrome GT4 Australia will see the inclusion of Aussie Racing Cars duo Caleb Paterson and Kent Quinn for the 2025 season finale in New Zealand later this month.
The pair will be racing with DNG Automotive in the New Zealand-based team’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 MR CS for GT Festival Hampton Downs, marking a series debut for both drivers.
With the entry locked in for the highly-competitive Silver-Am class, Paterson will enter the event as the Silver driver having predominantly spent his time racing Excels in various events around the country, including the Australian Excel Super Series where he picked up two podiums last year.
Since moving to Aussie Racing Cars in 2024, Paterson has enjoyed a breakout season in his motorsport journey – constantly hovering towards the top of the field in the competitive series where he sits fourth on the standings after five rounds.
Although he had a slow start to life in the series, he significantly improved for his second ever event by finishing eighth in Tasmania before notching up a trio of podiums in round three at Carco.com.au Raceway and winning the fourth round overall as part of GT Festival Sandown, securing a top five finish in round five at The Bend, elevating him to fourth on the standings and in contention for the series title.
Paterson’s teammate Quinn has even more experience in the series, having featured in it since as early as 2003, although he has been a regular starter over the past few years with his most notable season coming in 2023 where he was crowned champion of the Masters Cup.
In addition to his extended career in Aussie Racing Cars, Quinn has also run a range of other categories, including the Australian Production Cars, Bathurst 12 Hour and Australian Excel Super Series, as well as a range of state championship events.
Paterson and Quinn will officially make their series debut as part of the Monochrome GT4 Australia season finale at Hampton Downs on 31 October–2 November.

Caleb Paterson
DNG Automotive Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 MR CS driver
“I’m absolutely stoked to be running in the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series alongside Kent. We’ve been competing in the South Island Endurance Series over the last couple of weeks, doing plenty of practice, and we’re pretty keen heading into this one,” Paterson said.
“I did the Excel Enduro about a year ago with Kent, and after that he got me involved with Aussie Racing Cars as my main sponsor. After doing a few rounds in Aussie Racing Cars, he mentioned his GT4 and asked if I wanted to jump in for Hampton Downs – I couldn’t say no.
“I’ve always looked at the GT4 Series and wanted to be part of it, and now I finally am, which is really exciting. It’s going to be very different from Excels or Aussie Racing Cars, but I’m looking forward to some proper door-to-door racing.
“I love driving the GT4. It’s something completely different, and I’m still learning the ropes. My main goal is to have fun, finish both races, and hopefully show we can be competitive – maybe even sneak into the top five if we can.
“I’m still a rookie in a lot of ways, but I’ve had a good run recently. I won the Aussie Racing Cars round at Sandown and have been racing back-to-back weekends in the lead-up to this, so I’m feeling sharp and ready to show what I can do at Hampton Downs.”
Kent Quinn
DNG Automotive Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 MR CS driver
“I’m really looking forward to stepping up into Monochrome GT4 Australia. I’ve had a bit of a taste of GT4 racing before and felt comfortable straight away, so I’m excited to see how I fare in a category of this calibre,” Quinn said.
“The drive came about because I was wanting to take the next step, and when the Porsche came up for sale, I looked at my options and decided to give it a go with Caleb – he’s a really talented driver.
“He’s also a great kid with a fantastic family who fully support him. With the opportunities I had when I was younger, I wanted to do the same for a rising talent, while also having someone solid who could help me improve as a driver — and Caleb definitely fits that. He’s someone I genuinely enjoy working with as we progress together.
“The goal overall is to bring this car to Australia next year and run a full campaign, but we’ll see how we go this weekend. I think we’re more than capable of running towards the front of our class and going toe-to-toe with the other Porsche. We’re hoping to be competitive as a pairing and see where we sit.
“It’ll also be nice going up against my dad (Tony) and nephew (Ryder), which makes it a bit of a family affair – with some friendly rivalry in there as well.
Dustin Ng
DNG Automotive Team Owner
“Kent and Caleb took a real shine to each other when they raced in Excels together, and when the opportunity came up to step into GT4, both were keen to make it happen,” Ng said.
“We recently ran Tony in his GT4 SuperGT car in New Zealand, and when Tony sold the Porsche to Kent, it made sense for us to continue working on it — we know the car well, and it’s a great fit given the family connection.
“The Porsche itself is a fantastic, well-refined car. What’s even more special is that Caleb hadn’t driven a GT car before, yet he’s already at one with it after just a couple of sessions in recent competition.
“He topped the timesheets in practice and then put the car on class pole in the wet — in his very first qualifying session. Caleb is a fast learner and an exceptional talent. I have no doubt he’ll achieve some strong results alongside a robust, experienced driver like Kent.”
