John Bowe excited for Monochrome GT4 Australia future

Racing legend John Bowe is buoyed by the growth of Monochrome GT4 Australia in 2024 and is excited for its future in the coming seasons.

The two-time Bathurst 1000 winner and 1995 Australian Touring Car Champion has acted as an advisor to Randall Racing during its maiden year of competition. Bowe is excited to be apart of the growing category as part of Randall Racing.

“I’ve enjoyed it greatly,” Bowe reflected

“As a category it’s fantastic. It’s got lot’s of differences and it all ends uptime same on the track. The people I’ve found are terrific and the competitors are great, which is not always what you find in motorsport.

“I’ve loved working with the Randall Racing guys. When I first started working with the team, Jacob [Lawrence] hadn’t raced before and now he is an Am Cup champion. It’s been very gratifying and I’m hoping to do a bit more of it.

“I’m trying really hard not to retire!”

Bowe competed at The Bend round of Monochrome GT4 Australia last year and has been impressed with the growth in its maiden standalone season.

“It’s grown immensely this year,”

“We went from four entries when we did the one round at The Bend last year and in 2024 we’ve had no less than 16, with more coming I believe.”

It’s this growth Bowe puts down to a couple of reasons.

“It’s easy to talk up because you’re in, but it is really well run and it’s a global category existing in many countries all; run by the same people,” Bowe explained.

“I can’t talk more highly enough of it and I hope it continues to prosper.”

The opening round of the 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia season is at Phillip Island on April 4-6.
