After being involved in a scary fire at Sydney Motorsport Park earlier this year, Anthony Soole has announced he is ready to return to racing, with Monochrome GT4 Australia his main focus for 2025.
Soole will tackle the full season alongside the ever-popular Grant Denyer in the Am class and will be behind the wheel of his McLaren 570S GT4, which was remarkably almost considered a write-off during a passenger ride day in February due to a fire.
While Soole escaped the incident with no major injuries, the McLaren was a different story, and Soole has spent a large portion of the last two months getting the car repaired in readiness for the season opener in February.
With the car now almost good to go, it will be a race against time to make it to Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, however Soole is confident it will be in top shape and both drivers will be on the grid come the opening practice session of the weekend.
Soole and Denyer enter the season with plenty of motorsports experience under their belts, with the former having raced in Australian Production Car Series and the Bathurst 6 Hour for multiple years.
Like Soole, Denyer has also raced in Australian Production Car Series and the Bathurst 6 Hour for many years, however he has also enjoyed many stints in Australian GT racing, as well as in the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
This year won’t be the first time the pair race together in the series either, with an overall round victory at Mount Panorama their last appearance together—the duo signed off the season with victory and a runner-up finish to secure the result.
Soole also ran at the penultimate round of the 2024 Monochrome GT4 Australia season, finishing fourth for the weekend after picking up a podium.
The opening round of the 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia season takes place at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries’ season opener.

“We’re really looking forward to teaming up with Grant Denyer again as he brings a lot of experience and knowledge to GT racing, so it should be an exciting year,” said Soole.
“With that said, our focus has been trying to get the car back together after the fire at Eastern Creek. Although it was a little hairy, there was only superficial damage and a lot of damaged parts, but nothing major, so I am not scared to race or anything.
“All in all, we are excited to be part of this new era and Monochrome GT4 Australia this year. I believe it’s a category that is going to get a lot of cars on the grid, and with a lot of diversity in the field too.
“Monochrome GT4 Australia is not just a feeder series as there are a lot of people from all categories with difference experiences, which is awesome. I really like the environment that SRO Motorsports Australia has built as I feel like I am wanted. A lot of other categories could learn from how they work.
“I really do love it though. There is great camaraderie and it’s still grassroots enough that everyone is friendly with each other and not a level of ego driven motorsport, which is cool.
“I am also expected to compete against a really strong field of Am drivers. There are lot of impressive names there and I think it’s going to be a fantastic competition. Even though we have the oldest car in the field, I think we can punch above our weight.
"A big thank you to all my supporters for helping Grant and I get racing again this year, including PI Store, Supa Vest and G Developments.”
