The 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia season has officially started following opening practice as part of Round 1 of the Shannons SpeedSeries' GT Festival Phillip Island at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Silver Cup
Monochrome GT4 Australia debutants Blake Purdie and Daniel Price had a dream start to the season having gone fastest in Silver Cup driving the Nippy’s Audi R8 LMS GT4.
Setting a 1m 34.171s time, the duo led winners at the corresponding round last year, George Miedecke and Rylan Gray in the Miedecke Motorsport/Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang GT4 by 0.135s.
Rounding the Silver Cup top three for the session was the lead Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 of reigning class winner Tom Hayman and new co-driver Max Geoghegan.
Silver-Am Cup
Josh Buchan led the way in Silver-Am Cup after setting a 1m 34.281s driving the Zagame Autosport McLaren Artura GT4 he shares alongside Jason Yu.
Ford Mustang GT4s completed the top three led as debutants Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell in the DA Campbell Transport Ford Mustang GT4, while Aaron Seton was fastest of the three-car Gomersall Motorsport team in the entry to be co-driven by Jason Gomersall.
Am Cup
Defending Am Cup winner Jacob Lawrence continued his superb form from last year to lead the way in the first practice session. The Randall Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82 driver set a 1m 37.309s to lead the Love Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 shared by father-son duo Rob and Bailey Love by 0.074s.
Category debutants Chris Lillis and Nathan Callaghan were third driving the Method Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS RS.
There were no interruptions during the 40-minute session, with Monochrome GT4 Australia returning to the track at 1:50pm AEDT.
