Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall confirmed to defend title in 2026

Reigning Silver-Am Cup champions Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall will be back to defend their title in 2026 with the pair confirmed to run the full Monochrome GT4 Australia season.

Behind the wheel of the Gomersall Motorsport Ford Mustang GT4, the duo will don the number one plate for the six-round season as they look to go back-to-back against a growing field.

Seton and Gomersall enter Monochrome GT4 Australia’s third season as a standalone category off the back of an impressive 2025 campaign where they secured the Silver-Am class title at Hampton Downs.

With 12 races overall making up the season, the pair picked up two Silver-Am wins in 2025 and more than a handful of podiums on their way to what ultimately was a comfortable 39-point win over their closest rivals.

Victories during the opening two rounds began their charge for the title before a run of five consecutive podiums at the following three rounds set them up strongly for the title in New Zealand – maximum points in the opening race of the season finale securing the silverware.

Outside of Monochrome GT4 Australia, the pair have both been in the sport for a long time, with Gomersall’s 20-year career having run seeing him compete in Super3, Touring Cars Masters, Formula Vee, V8 Utes and multiple Bathurst 6 Hour events.

Seton has also raced in his fair share of national categories over a 15-year period with stints in Touring Car Masters, Australian Production Cars, and Trans Am, as well as multiple appearances in the Supercars Enduro Cups, including last year where he and Cameron Crick finished 15th at the famous Bathurst 1000.

The pair will have their first run for the year later this month during a test day before kicking off their title-defence at GT Festival Phillip Island at the end of next month.

Monochrome GT4 Australia kicks off the 2026 season at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.

“I am excited to be back in the Gomersall Motorsport Ford Mustang defending the title with Jason,” Seton said.

“We both look for similar things in a race car and I think that we made a really good team, so it’s really cool that I can link back up with Jason and Gomersall Motorsport this year.

“I’m excited to get to Phillip Island for the opening round and stay consistent throughout the year, and hopefully we can add some more trophies to our cabinet.

“We’ve also got a really good group of people around us and I have full faith that the team can do a good job and we can defend our title.

“I think we had a really great year in 2025, so I’m looking forward to carrying the number one this year.”

“Going around again with Aaron was an easy decision to make and I’m very keen to come back and defend the title,” Gomersall said.

“I could obviously run by myself but I love the Monochrome GT4 Australia Silver-Am format where I get to use Aaron as a benchmark and try and get as close as I can to his lap times, which overall lifts my game.

“It will be pretty cool running the number one on the car for the season and hopefully we can retain it.

“It’s going to be much tougher this year. Dean (Campbell) and (Cameron) Crick will be as hungry as ever, while there will be others that join who will be just as strong, so we're going to have to lift our game if we're going to go back-to-back.

“I really enjoyed it last year. I took some time after I finished up in Super 3 to work out what category I wanted to do and GT4 was everything I hoped for, so overall I am really looking forward to the season.”
