After a solid maiden season in Monochrome GT4 Australia last year, Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan will once again team up behind the wheel of the McLaren Artura GT4 for the 2026 season.
The Team Soutar Motorsport entry will contest all six rounds of the series in the Silver-Am class with the backing of Tufflift Racing - a partner that supported Soutar for almost a decade.
In what was their first season driving together in 2025, Soutar and Nirwan had a mixed year in the series having scored two podiums across the year, with their best result being a runner-up finish at GT Festival The Bend after starting from pole position.
The pair managed to finish their maiden campaign in fifth place overall having secured a handful of top-10 class finishes - showing promising signs at multiple points of the season.
For Soutar, he brings plenty of experience to the fold having raced in a handful of national categories over the past 10 years - his most recent exploits before Monochrome GT4 Australia included successful stints in TCR Australia and Australian Formula Ford.
While impressing many in Australian Formula Ford where he secured multiple victories and podiums during a three-year stint, Soutar went to another level in his journey when he switched to TCR Australia in 2021 – a career-best year in 2024 seeing him pick up three wins and eight podiums to finish runner-up for the season.
That same season saw Nirwan make his Australian debut as part of TCR Australia after switching from rally in Indonesia and returning to Australia having grown up here. During his 10-year rally career, Nirwan was a regular fixture in the Indonesian Rally Championship with his best result being an outright podium in the Indonesian Rally Championship’s Danau Toba Rally in 2021.
Following his rally career, Nirwan had a brief stint in the Indonesian ITCR 3600 Max National Series where he got his first taste for circuit racing before moving down under and debuting in TCR Australia in 2024. Nirwan showed plenty of progress during that maiden campaign with his best weekend coming in the season finale where he finished seventh for the round - one place higher than his future Monochrome GT4 Australia teammate in Soutar.
Monochrome GT4 Australia kicks off the 2026 season at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.

“It feels great to race in Monochrome GT4 Australia again this year. This is my second year driving a GT4 car and I think the McLaren’s mid-engine rear-wheel-drive layout is far more suitable to my style than the front-wheel-drive TCR category,” Nirwan said.
“With that said, my first year was beyond my personal expectations, and although we have limited experience, we were always fighting for podium spots, and came home with two trophies, which was great.
“Zac and I did have some ups and downs from a results point of view, but the downsides are mostly because we were out of luck and we have been working a lot in the off-season to improve.
“For me, that includes doing a lot of training in the simulator, while also joining Leigh Stamation at Reaction Performance.
“It’s also fantastic to be with the team again. We combined three different nationalities under the same roof, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia and achieved extraordinary chemistry.
“I’m also very thrilled that Reuben Wong will be in charge as the engineer of our car, while Shane Soutar will make sure everything goes well.
“I’ve set my sights on the top spot this year. I know we can do it as we have all the infrastructure and necessary elements to be champions, so I am keen to get the season started.
“I grew up watching track days at QR and eventually did it myself when I was studying in Brisbane. I raced for quite a bit in Indonesia, but I thought it’s time for me to change the scenery, it was only natural that I would come back to Australia. With Monochrome GT4 Australia, it has one of the biggest GT4 grids in the world and the drivers are world class, so I felt it was the best place to measure myself as a driver.”

“Last year was Glenn and my first season driving together and it was a big learning year for us and the team, but we're really excited to be back in Monochrome GT4 Australia and to have a second opportunity at trying to stitch a few good results together in 2026,” Soutar said.
“I guess last year’s preparation felt a bit rushed as the car arrived just before the start of the season and we didn't get much testing, so the majority of the year was spent finding our feet. This year though, we now have a much better understanding of how to get the most out of the McLaren as we have a year of experience and have done some development on it.
“I think we should be very competitive this season. Glenn is improving all of the time and is becoming very quick in his own right, whilst hopefully I can do my part and we can be in the Silver-Am Cup title fight at the end of the season.
“Monochrome GT4 Australia is run so professionally and it's really great to be competing under an organisation like SRO. The series itself is good racing with great people, so we were both keen to get there again.
“Finally, we’re very excited to have Tufflift Hoists back on board once again for this season. They have sponsored me for the last nine years now which surely must be one of the longest running partnerships in motorsport. They're incredible supporters of Glenn, myself and our team and have some amazing people and products in their corner. I’m thrilled to have them back and I can't wait to see what we can do together this year.”
