Glenn Walker makes significant switch ahead of second Monochrome GT4 Australia season

Gomersall Motorsport’s Glenn Walker has confirmed a second year in the Monochrome GT4 Australia series in 2026, with the Queenslander having made a key switch ahead of the upcoming season.

Piloting BMW M4 GT4 F82 for his rookie season in 2025, Walker will once again run in the Am Cup, only this time it will now be behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang GT4.

Walker’s transition from BMW to Ford Mustang sees him replicate teammates Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall, giving the team an all Ford line-up.

The second-year driver will enter the season off the back of an impressive maiden season in Monochrome GT4 Australia after finishing the year sixth in the competitive Am Cup.

In what was his first-ever year of racing after spending years running solely in club track days, Walker finished the 2025 season with five official class podiums - including a consecutive run of four across the opening two rounds.

While misfortune prevented him from finishing four races during the year, Walker’s raw talent helped him secure podiums in more than half of the races he finished overall – giving him plenty to build on for the 2026 season as he looks to progress his racing journey.

Walker will join Seton and Gomersall at the team’s official test day later this month before beginning his second Monochrome GT4 Australia season at GT Festival Phillip Island on 27-29 March.

“The switch to the Ford Mustang made sense for myself. I had my rookie year with Gomersall Motorsport last year in what was the older BMW M4 GT4 F82, which was an excellent car and one we learnt a lot from, but as a team, we talked it through and it made sense to standardise with the Mustang,” Walker said.

“We’ve now got a multi-car team, all running the same platform.

“This year is going to be a bit of a learning curve for me to get my head around the Mustang, but I’m super excited to be stepping into a current-generation car and getting back on track again at Phillip Island.”

“Last year was my genuine rookie season and the first time I’d ever done door-to-door racing. To say it was a year of lessons learned is an understatement. One of the biggest lessons for me was not having expectations, but instead focusing on preparation and the process, and hoping for a bit of luck along the way.

“My biggest takeaway from last year was that consistency is key. Finishing races is key, and that’s something we’ll really be focusing on this year. At the same time, Gomersall Motorsport is a great community of friends, a very professional team and we take it seriously, but we also have a lot of fun on race weekends and really enjoy the racing and the paddock atmosphere.

“I can’t wait to get back into Monochrome GT4 in 2026. SRO Motorsports Australia continues to grow the category, with new faces and new cars coming into the country. It’s an exciting time to be involved, and I think we’re part of one of Australia’s foremost racing series right now.”
