“At 21-years-old, I felt it made sense to jump straight into Monochrome GT4 Australia as it’s a great category and a strong platform if you want to build a career in GT racing,’ Shearer said.

“The biggest reason for going to Monochrome GT4 Australia was because of the scale of the events, the hospitality and the exposure. The work SRO Motorsports Australia does with the Shannons SpeedSeries makes it a great show for fans, and that gives me a really good way to provide value for sponsors.

“It also gives me a couple of options for the pathway I want to take. I can go down the route of moving into GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, or go down the Porsche pathway through Sprint Challenge Australia and Porsche Carrera Cup. Right now I’m just focused on getting started and seeing where it leads.

“Because this is kind of the start of my racing journey, I’m super excited to get the season underway - especially working with a team like Rennan Motorsport.

“The team has been incredibly accommodating. From the start they’ve been very straightforward and honest, which gave me a lot of confidence. It just felt like the right fit.”
