Love duo stick with family combo for Monochrome GT4 Australia 2026

Love duo stick with family combo for Monochrome GT4 Australia 2026

Father-son combination Rob and Bailey Love will compete again in 2026, with the pair locked in to start the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season at Round 1 Phillip Island.

Behind the wheel of the Team Soutar Motorsport-prepared Mercedes-AMG GT4, the Loves will be hoping to build on their previous campaigns in the series.
Both Rob and Bailey are experienced Monochrome GT4 Australia series competitors, with Bailey first debuting in 2023 and Rob joining the following year – their dual entries coming under the Love Motorsport banner.

In the first half of the 2024 season, the pair drove in two separate entries in the Silver -Am (then Pro-Am) class, with Antonio Astuti teaming up with Rob for two rounds, and Sam Brabham linking up with Bailey in Queensland – the latter duo enjoying a highly successful weekend together with back-to-back podiums.

Following on from that round, each driver opted to run solo for the rest of the season, with Bailey building on the foundations from the Queensland Raceway round, finishing the year with a class win, a further two class podiums and a pair of top five finishes.

Driving solo from the Queensland round, Rob’s debut season in the series proved a mixed affair, with his best results being a podium at Sandown, splitting a pair of fourth-place finishes.

Last year, the pair combined their efforts into one entry and contested the majority the season together - banking points in most rounds they contested in together.
In 2026, they will continue to run together with Team Soutar Motorsport in the hope of claiming more podiums and victories throughout the year.

The pair begin their 2026 campaign alongside the rest of the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series field at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.

“We’re really excited to get back into GT4. It’s been about five months since we last raced, and after a strong finish to last season, we can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and give it everything,” Bailey said.

“The field is very competitive, but we believe we’ve got a solid chance to be up there. Ultimately, the goal is to enjoy it – and doing that alongside my dad makes it even more special.

Last year, we completed the full season, but we had a few setbacks. We were caught up in a crash at The Bend and had engine issues in Queensland, along with a few other challenges that didn’t go our way. It was a mix of bad luck and small errors.

“This year, we’ve got higher expectations. It’s our second season with Team Soutar Motorsport, who are extremely well organised, and we’re looking forward to starting strong in round one and building momentum throughout the season.”

“Bailey’s improved massively over the past few years, which has been fantastic to watch as a father. His confidence has really come along, and he’s becoming a very capable driver in his own right, so hopefully I don’t slow him down too much this season,” Rob said.

“We’re definitely aiming to be on the podium this year. We felt like we had one taken away from us last season, so we have to try harder.

“Team Soutar have been absolutely magnificent and continue to do a great job. The way the team operates gives us a lot of confidence heading into each round. Everything is well organised, the car is well prepared, and we’re really happy with the environment we’re in.”
