Monochrome GT4 Australia to bring record field to 2026 season opener in Phillip Island

Monochrome GT4 Australia is back this weekend and a record-breaking field will kick off the new season on a high as 34 cars do battle on the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this weekend as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries’ LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Phillip Island.

Following on from the series’ massive year in 2025, the momentum continues to swing for Monochrome GT4 Australia with eight manufacturers and 57 drivers across the 34 entries making up the season-opener grid that will be sure to entertain a strong expected crowd.

While there are many returning entries for the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season, there has been no shortage of movement between personnel amongst teams, drivers and classes, while the bumper entry list also welcomes a number of new names to the grid for the season across all three classes.

Of course, the eight brands won’t just be gunning for Monochrome GT4 Australia honours, there will also be the ever-important Global Manufacturer rankings on the line, with BMW having won back-to-back titles. However, with a strong cohort of other brands featuring in this year’s season opener, the popular German manufacturer may be challenged for top honours.

Audi
Audi’s sole presence comes via an impressive Purdie Racing entry in the Audi R8 LMS GT4. Competing in the Silver class, Blake Purdie will be looking to build on a decent maiden campaign last year and has Supercars gun Jobe Stewart alongside him, who will debut in 2026.

BMW
BMW’s successful manufacturer defence begins with a decent contingent of six BMW M4 GT4 cars being piloted by a mix of experience and new faces - headlined by last year’s Am Cup champion Jacob Lawrence, who is joined by Lachlan Mineeff in the #32 BMW, while father Peter runs the second Randall Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82.

Fresh from his first visit to Germany as part of the BMW M Motorsport Racing Academy class, Ryder Quinn will have a new co-driver for the opening round, with Daniel Jilesen replacing Steve Jakic in their Thunder Buddies Racing / Black Diamond BMW.

McElrea Racing will be running a two-car outfit in 2026, with father-son duo Nathan and Jay Murray to run separately, while new entry Jiawei Chen rounds out the brand’s representation in the Edge Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 F82.

Aaron Cameron and Lochie Dalton in the Multispares Racing #27 Ford Mustang GT4 will be similarly joined by the newcomers Cam McLeod and Mason Harvey in their RM Racing Cars entry.

Gomersall Motorsport is back with an unchanged three-car line-up across all three classes as 2025 Silver-Am Cup winners Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall lead teammates Jake Camilleri and Glenn Walker in the team – the latter of which switches

The reigning Silver-Am Cup champions will again be up against title rivals Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell, who have moved to Method Motorsport for the season.

Wallis Motorsport has international depth with American Sam Paley joining Jack Wallis, while Jarrod Keyte rounds out the brand’s representation with the experienced Tony D’Alberto, who makes his series debut this weekend.

Following an impressive debut at GT Festival Hampton Downs last year, Caleb Paterson and Kent Quinn are back in the Norganic Proteins Porsche, while Jensen Shearer comes into the series for the first time in his #46 Porsche.
