Team Soutar Motorsport set early benchmark at Sandown
The first session for the Monochrome GT4 Australia season finale has been completed with Team Soutar Motorsport enjoying a dominant start to the weekend, topping all three classes in Practice 1.

The field took to the circuit for the first time on Friday, with a mid-session crash involving Randall Racing’s Jacob Lawrence causing a major disruption to the session.

Despite the red flag, the session resumed for just over 10 minutes, giving drivers one final opportunity to improve their times.
Silver Cup
Team Soutar Motorsport’s strong start to the weekend was led by first-year drivers Jack Johnson and William Exton, who put their #128 McLaren Artura GT4 at the top of the class standings by almost three-tenths of a second.
Wallis Motorsport's Cameron McLeod and Jack Wallis finished second fastest, posting a 1:14.7749 in their Ford Mustang GT4, while Miedecke Motorsport with Lubrimaxx's Blake Tracey and George Miedecke rounded out the top three with a 1:14.8804.
Jay Murray initially showed strong pace aboard the Slattery/McElrea Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82 EVO, before the session's restart provided an opportunity for the field to challenge the benchmark, with Johnson initially topping the timesheets before Exton improved the time to comfortably seal the session.
Silver-Am
Tufflift Racing by TSM's Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan led the way in Silver-Am, posting their best lap of 1:15.307 aboard their #75 McLaren Artura GT4 to give Team Soutar Motorsport another class-leading result of the session.
Method Motorsport's Cody Burcher and Dean Campbell finished second fastest in class, with the #118 Ford Mustang GT4 having led for most of the session - with Burcher spending the majority of the time behind the wheel as his best time of 1:15.911 made him second for the session.
Norganic Proteins' Caleb Paterson and Kent Quinn completed the top three, as Paterson guided the pair’s #28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS to a best lap of 1:16.095.
Am Cup
Team Soutar Motorsport completed a clean sweep of the classes, with Monochrome GT4 Australia's debutants Marty Craggill and Tom Sandow setting the pace in Am.
In what was a highly impressive showing from the pair, Craggill recorded a best lap of 1:16.187 aboard the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS he shares with Sandow - with the latter coming in and posting solid laps once he took over.
Method Motorsport's Ryan Sorensen finished second in class with a 1:16.537 in his McLaren Artura GT4, while current Am Cup leader, Gomersall Motorsport's Glenn Walker completed the top three with a 1:16.572 aboard his Ford Mustang GT4.
