One of the more impressive performances at the second round of Monochrome GT4 Australia at The Bend was Zoe Woods in the TekworkX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR.
Woods continued her improvement after a solid debut at Phillip Island to qualify 13th in Race 1, but held a position inside the top five for Silver Class and entrenched in the top 10 as the pit stops occurred at the halfway mark of the hour long race.
Woods remained inside the top 10 until the conclusion to score fifth in Silver Class and seventh outright, her best of the season so far.
Sunday’s second race began well from seventh outright on the grid, but a brake problem arose during the race to hamper her run to finish 11th and sixth in Silver Class.
“Overall, we had a really good weekend, lots of track time, with some extra practice on Thursday and a bit of wet weather running on Friday,” said Woods.
“I was pretty stoked to be in fourth in the wet session, as I don't consider myself a very confident wet weather driver.
“The race on Saturday afternoon, was pretty good, to end up in seventh. We had some issues with our brakes in Race 2, so that just made it a little bit more interesting for me. I had to keep reminding myself about the extra work needed, such as pumping the brake before the corners.
“I am really looking forward to our next round, our home event at Queensland Raceway.”
Monochrome GT4 Australia continues at Queensland Raceway on August 2-4 as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
