The second practice session for Monochrome GT4 Australia’s visit to Sydney Motorsport Park has seen a shake up in the top five, as all three classes were represented.
Taking out the top spot for the session overall was Antonio Astuti in the Love Motorsport Mercedes AMG GTR - with the young Volante Rosso driver earning himself the fastest Silver Cup time in any session for the first time in his career.
In second overall and just three tenths off the Mercedes was the returning Josh Buchan and Jason Yu, who also ended the session as the fastest Pro Am. Buchan secured the spot early on the session after guiding his Zagame Autosport McLaren Artura GT4 to a 1:35.4421 on his second attempt.
Series debutant Lochie Dalton made a statement early on with the fifth fastest lap of the session and the fastest run in the AM class - the Tasmanian’s best time in the Buckby Motorsport Mercedes AMG GT4 within one second of Astuti.
Splitting Buchan and Dalton were the pair of Ford Mustangs split by just two hundredths of a second - the Miedecke Motor Group Ford Mustang GT4 of George Miedecke and Rylan Gray edging out Aaron Steton and Jason Gomersall.
Just one session remains on Friday, with the ever-important Qualifying to take place over two 10-minute sessions from 7:25pm AEDT.
