Race-winning Jake Camilleri completes Gomersall Motorsport trio of Ford Mustangs

Gomersall Motorsport has completed its three-car line-up for the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season with Jake Camilleri locking in his place with the team once again.

A proven race winner in the series, Camilleri will stick with the Ford Mustang GT4 he obtained midway through last year and will once again contest the Silver Cup.

This year will be the Queenslander’s third season in the category, having joined the series in 2024, and it has proved quite a decisive decision with Camilleri going from strength to strength since joining.

Starting off in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 for his debut season, Camilleri enjoyed three Silver Cup podiums throughout the year, with his first coming during the category’s first-ever round as a standalone category at Sandown before he ended the year at Bathurst with a pair of podiums - including a runner-up finish.

In 2025, Camilleri added more silverware to his growing trophy cabinet, with a podium in Sydney behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG followed by a switch to the Ford Mustang GT4, which resulted in instant results as he secured a remarkable victory at Sandown Raceway.

Camilleri then enjoyed one final podium for the year in New Zealand, giving him plenty of momentum heading into the following season.

Prior to his Monochrome GT4 Australia exploits, Camilleri built an impressive and highly respected career across a range of Australian production car and endurance racing for more than two decades.

Throughout his career, he has picked up more than 20 wins and ended up on the podium almost 100 times - making him one of the most experienced drivers on the Monochrome GT4 Australia grid.

His most recent successes outside of the series came last year when he took out the 24H Series Middle East Trophy - GTX class title alongside Darren Currie, Grant Donaldson and Mark Griffith thanks to two highly deserved podiums.

In addition to that recent success, Camilleri is a two-time Bathurst 6 Hour class winner and two-time Class C champion in the Production Cars, while also picking up multiple MARC Class wins within major events and categories.

Camilleri completed a successful private test with his Gomersall Motorsport teammates earlier this week, in preparation for the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season, which begins next month.

The opening round for Monochrome GT4 Australia takes place as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries’ GT Festival Phillip Island on 27-29 March.

#36 Gomersall Motorsport Ford Mustang GT4

“After last year, where we made a mid-season switch into the Ford Mustang, the final two rounds weren’t ideal, but I was still getting to know the car after that big debut win at Sandown, which was awesome,” Camilleri said.

“This year it’s full go. I’m pumped and really looking forward to giving it a red-hot crack with the team.

“My goal, even if it’s a bit ambitious given the quality of competition in the Silver Cup, is to be in contention for the class title. That comes down to more podiums and more consistency, because at the end of the day, being on the podium puts you in the title fight.

“Qualifying will be a big focus for me this year, because that’s probably where I lacked a little last season. A better starting position helps you avoid the mid-pack battles and the incidents that can come with them, which caught me out in the final rounds last year.

“I’m feeling really comfortable in the Ford Mustang and at Gomersall Motorsport. Now that we’ve got three cars in the stable, we’ll have strong data across all three to work on our set-ups, and knowing what works and what doesn’t will only help us move forward this year.”
