Cameron and Dalton to lead Multispares Racing charge in 2026

Cameron and Dalton to lead Multispares Racing charge in 2026

Young Supercars drivers Aaron Cameron and Lochie Dalton will form a strong combination in the Monochrome GT4 Australia Silver Class this year, competing with Multispares Racing in a Ford Mustang GT4.

Both drivers have plenty of experience racing at the top level in Australia and are no strangers to Monochrome GT4 Australia – with Cameron having debuted last year with Multispares Racing alongside Ryan Hansford, and Dalton racing with Ben Newman in 2023 and 2024.

Cameron contested three rounds of GT4 with Ryan Hansford in the Silver-Am class last year, and will use that same Mustang with Dalton for their 2026 program after claiming three podiums, including a win, in the limited program.

Dalton raced in the 2025 Series with Tasmanian Mercedes-AMG entrant Ben Newman at the end of the 2024 season and for the majority of last year’s series. Driving in Silver-Am (then Pro-Am), that pairing claimed a class win in the final round of 2024 at Mount Panorama and added a podium result to that tally in 2025.

Cameron and Dalton will be serious contenders in the Silver class, with their GT4 duties adding to their Supercars Championship and Super2 campaigns respectively with the Blanchard Racing Team.

Cameron has been one of the standout drivers in Supercars in 2026, racing at the front of the competitive field and scoring podiums - his good form a reflection of his rise through the ranks in Australian motorsport, which has seen him compete in national categories such as TCR Australia, S5000 Drivers Championship and Dunlop Super2.

A proven race winner, Cameron secured the Shannons S5000 Tasman Series title in 2021 with one victory and four podiums, and won the S5000 Australian Drivers Championship in 2023 with seven wins and a further five podiums. He has also had multiple class wins in the Bathurst 12 Hour and 6 Hour events, taking out the Class D victory in the 2019 6 Hour and the Invitational Class in the 2020 12 Hour.

As for Dalton, he has been competing at a national level since 2021, with his first series being the TGRA GR Cup before switching to the Trans Am Series the following year, where he picked up three podiums.

In 2023, he had a breakout season by finishing second in the Trans Am Series after picking up four wins and a further six podiums, while also completing 11 races in the Super2 Series to finish 10th overall.

Improving to ninth for the year in the 2024 Super2 Series, while also making his Supercars debut, Dalton just missed out on the title last year after finishing second with three wins and a further three podiums. This year, he got his Super2 season off to an impressive start and leads the title fight after one round.

The new Multispares Racing pairing will form part of a multi-Mustang GT4 team led by Brett Peters and David Schramm.

Cameron and Dalton will get their seasons underway as part of the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Series to be held at the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March – all part of the Shannons SpeedSeries’ LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Phillip Island.

All GT4 races will be broadcast live in Australia on FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS, while international viewers can watch live and free on the GT World YouTube channel.

“GT4 is a fun category. I did a few rounds with Ryan Hansford last year, and they are just really chill, relaxed race weekends,” Cameron said.

“The Mustang GT4 is a great car. It does everything you ask of it and it is clearly a competitive weapon.

"I’ve known Lachie for a long time. We raced karts against each other, we drove together at Garry Rogers Motorsport, and now he has started racing Super2 with BRT while I’m there as well. We just seem to keep following each other around, so when it came time to select a co-driver, he was my first pick.

“Our aim is to have some fun, collect a bunch of trophies and keep the Multispares Mustang up front.”

“I really enjoy the GT4 Australia racing, so it’s going to be cool to do it in the Silver class with Aaron and have a proper crack at the title,” Dalton said.

“Our aim is to go for the title, but whatever happens we know we are going to enjoy doing it. The team is a great bunch of guys who love racing, and that helps make your weekends enjoyable.

“I’m excited to join Aaron in the car too. We’ve been team-mates before, but never shared a car together, so that is going to be new.

“Our careers have progressed along similar paths over the years, even ending up at the same team at GRM together, but actually sharing the Multispares Mustang with him is something different. I reckon we’re going to have some fun in GT4 this year.”
