Monochrome GT4 Australia kicks off 2026 with Practice 1 at Phillip Island

Monochrome GT4 Australia has officially kicked off the 2026 season with the opening practice of LIQUI MOLY GT Festvial Phillip Island.

A total of 33 cars made it out on track for the session, with all teams and drivers getting plenty of laps of the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Silver

Setting the pace for the first session of the day was the Multispares Racing duo of Lachlan Dalton and Aaron Cameron, as the pair guided their Ford Mustang GT4 to a 1:34.575.

Going second fastest for the session was the Miedecke Motorsport with Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang of Blake Tracey and George Miedecke, with the debutant in Tracey less than a tenth off Dalton and Cameron.

Tracey and Miedecke ended up splitting the two Multispares Racing-run entries, with Cam McLeod and Mason Harvey going third fastest for the session with a time of 1:35.160.

While the Ford Mustangs led the way with the top three times, two McLaren Artura GT4s rounded out the top five for Practice 1, with Jarrod Hughes and Summer Rintoule fourth fastest thanks to a time of 1:35.558, while just less than a hundredth of a second slower was Team Soutar Motorsport’s Jack Johnson and Will Exton.

Silver-Am
Leading the way in Silver-Am was the new Method Motorsport duo Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell, as their lap-7 time of 1:34.631 ended up three and a half tenths faster than reigning champions Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall.

In third for the session was CAMM Quarries&Concrete Racing’s Lachlan  Evennett and Andrew Torti – with the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 drivers almost four tenths off the leading Ford Mustang GT4.

With Tufflift Racing by TSM’s Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan fourth fastest for the session with a time of 1:35.755 in their McLaren Artura GT4, and Thunder Buddies Racing/Black Diamond’s Ryder Quinn and Daniel Jilesen fifth fastest in the BMW M4 GT4 G82 – four different manufacturers occupied the top five fastest times of the session.

Am Cup
Gomersall Motorsport’s Glenn Walker had a solid start to life in the Ford Mustang GT4, as he went fastest in the competitive Am Cup with a time of 1:37.059.
Showing plenty of pace in his new set of wheels, Walker comfortably went faster than the next best crew in Bailey and Rob Love, as six tenths of a second separated them.

The Love Racing by TSM Mercedes-AMG GT4 of the Loves also showed plenty of pace throughout the 40-minute session, with Method Motorsport’s Chris Lillis and Nathan Callaghan’s best lap of the session a further three tenths slower.

In fourth for the session was Game Over’s Tony Quinn in the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 with a time of 1:37.993, while Method Motorsport’s Ryan Sorenson ended up fifth with a time of 1:38.286.
