Tim Leahey will make his grand return to Monochrome GT4 Australia this weekend, with the former race winner to be joined by Porsche star Dylan O’Keeffe on his return.
In what will be O'Keeffe’s official debut in the series, the pair will contest the hugely competitive Silver-Am class behind the wheel of the Ashley Seward Motorsport prepared BMW M4 GT4 G82.
Leahey is no stranger to Monochrome GT4 Australia having been a regular competitor since 2024, where he campaigned in the Silver class both on his own and with Cody Burcher.
The New South Welshman enjoyed plenty of success during those two seasons, claiming four victories, a further three podiums and a pair of Silver pole positions, most of which came with Burcher.
Despite missing two rounds in 2024, Leahey managed to finish third overall for the season before securing another top five finish at the end of the season last year after missing the final round.
His most prolific event came at SRO Motorsports Australia’s first-ever GT Festival at Phillip Island in 2024, where he and Burcher claimed race wins in both outings for the weekend.
Outside of Monochrome GT4 Australia, Leahey has had a longstanding career in the sport that spans almost 30 years since making his racing debut in Formula Ford back in 1997.
He would go on to race at the top level in Australia both in open wheel and tin top machinery, competing in Formula Holden and Formula Ford in his early days, before graduating to the likes of Supercars and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia in its earlier iterations. Leahey featured in the inaugural Carrera Cup field in 2003 and made multiple Bathurst 1000 starts throughout.
Over the last decade, Leahey has spent most of his time in production and GT racing where he claimed lots of silverware - his most decorated results being in the Bathurst 6 Hour where he won outright in 2019 and secured podiums in 2024 and 2025, while also being a proven race winner in Australian Production Cars.
Leahey’s co-driver in O'Keeffe has no shortage of success himself having established himself as one of Australia’s leading drivers - highlighted by his Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Pro class title in 2025.
The highly deserved Carrera Cup title didn’t come out of nowhere either as he steadily built his way up to the series-winning campaign, finishing fourth in both 2022 and 2023 before claiming third in 2024.
O'Keeffe has also featured in his fair share of SRO Motorsports events over the years too, featuring regularly in the famous Bathurst 12 Hour events and a brief stint in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS.
His best result in the 12 Hour came this year where he won the Pro-Am class with Garth Walden and Brett Hobson. It wasn’t the first time he picked up a good result there, having a Class A Silver GT3 victory with Andrew Fawcett and Daniel Gaunt in 2023 and a Class B win in a Porsche Cup Car in 2017.
Less than a year after his 2023 success in Bathurst, O'Keeffe also won Class A1 in the Bathurst 6 Hour alongside Mike Sheargold.
Prior to his Bathurst victories in 2017 and 2023, O’Keeffe had enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks since making his car racing debut in 2014. Starting off in Porsche 944 Challenge, O’Keeffe’s move to Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge the following year had a sudden impact as he finished second for the year. Moving up to Carrera Cup the following year, by 2018, he had become a regular front-runner, winning races and rounds and finishing third in the championship.
In 2019, O’Keeffe expanded his experience into Super2, finishing fifth in the championship and as the highest-placed rookie, while also starring in the inaugural TCR Australia season, winning four races and becoming the first Australian to compete in the World TCR Cup before making his Supercars Bathurst 1000 debut in 2020, where he competed on multiple occasions.
The pair will feature in the Monochrome GT4 Australia’s penultimate round of the year at Sydney Motorsport Park, which takes place on 18-20 September.

“I always get itchy feet and I need to go racing,” said Leahey.
“I need to blow the cobwebs out and get some sanity, which is funny I find that by racing, but I do.
“We finished second in Race 2 last year, which was a lot better than the season before due to being able to manage the tyres better.
“I was able to do a test day in the BMW a couple of weeks ago to do some laps and blow the cobwebs out before deciding to race in Sydney.
“Ash (Seward, team owner) has got his little mate Dylan O’Keeffe to come and drive with me in Silver-Am Cup to have a crack.
“The BMW is not far off the other makes in the field, so you just need the cards to fall your way. I think the most important thing at Sydney Motorsport Park will be to get the M4 to look after its tyres and certainly that responsible lies with the driver in the first stint.

“I really enjoy racing at Sydney, and with the current Carrera Cup schedule not going there this year, it made a lot of sense. I’ve also got a bunch of sponsors in Sydney, so it ticks a lot of boxes for me and I’m excited to get racing,” O’Keefe said.
“I know Tim pretty well. I raced TCR with Ashley Seward Motorsport back in 2024, and Tim was racing the BMW out of the same trailer, so I’ve known him for a little while. He’s a cool dude and has a lot of experience around the paddock, so I’m looking forward to working with him.
“I don’t have a huge amount of experience with BMW machinery. I used to have an M4 of the same model, so I’m sure I know how to drive it, but this car will obviously be a bit different. Hopefully we can extract some good performance from it.
“I’ve seen the car and it looks pretty cool, but I’ve got a lot of faith in Ash and the crew to get the ultimate performance out of it.
“It’s a really hotly contested series, and there’s a vast range of experience. You’ve got guys who are just starting out, and you’ve got really experienced guys as well, so I think I sit somewhere in the middle, so I’m looking forward to using my experience.
