Monochrome GT4 Australia celebrates 2026 Champions

The 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season has officially come to an end, with the End of Season Awards seeing off the year in style.

Held at the contemporary riverside function and event venue, Zinc at Fed Square, 240 guests were in attendance at the Awards night as SRO Motorsports Australia celebrated the champions of the 2026 season.

Hosted by Chris Stubbs and Charlie Barlow, the event saw the winner of the Overall Teams Championship, and the top three from the Silver, Silver-Am and Am Cups all presented with their trophies while also giving the winners a chance to speak about their well-deserved titles.

A significant affair of the event was the presentation of the Tim Miles Award, which honours the late Tim Miles, who was a regular in the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS series at the time of his unexpected passing.

The award is presented to a SRO Motorsports Australia driver for embodying the spirit and values of the ever-positive Miles both on and off track, with last year’s GT World Challenge Australia Pro-Am winner Brad Schumacher receiving the inaugural award in 2025.

This year, the award was presented to rising GT star Ryder Quinn for his stellar year in Monochrome GT4 Australia, as well as his success off the track.

Behind the wheel of the #3 Thunder Buddies Racing / Black Diamond BMW M4 GT4 G82, Quinn ultimately finished the Silver-Am Cup in third place, having secured two victories and a further two podiums.

Quinn also featured in this year’s 2026 Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour alongside father Klark, uncle Kent and grandfather Tony in what was a world first of three generations in one car line up.

In addition to his racing success, Quinn also spent the year as part of the prestigious BMW M Racing Academy Class of 2026, where he and two other drivers from around the world spent the year gaining insights into the work of BMW M Motorsport and learning from professional GT drivers.

With the 2026 season for Monochrome GT4 Australia now complete, the series kicks off the 2027 season at the famous Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour in February.

QUOTES
Ryder Quinn
2026 Tim Miles Award Recipient

“This is such an honour. Words honestly cannot describe what it means to receive the Tim Miles Award,” Quinn said.

“Tim was such an impactful person, not just as a race car driver but as a human being within our community. He was someone people aspired to be like, and I certainly aspired to be like Timmy.

“To receive this award is incredibly special, particularly because we were quite close off the track as well as on it, which included doing Carrera Cup together. This year’s Bathurst 12 Hour was an extremely special event for my family and me as we ran Timmy's car.

“Honestly, I would take this award over a championship. That's how highly I regard it. I've never been speechless in my motorsport career, but when I received the award, I didn’t know what to say as it seriously means so much to me.

“It's extremely emotional for me to receive this award and I am so grateful to everyone around me for their ongoing support.”
