Randall Racing has impressed this season both on and off the track, with the Melbourne-based squad in the box seat to take the Am Cup crown in its first season, but a racing legend in the background has been instrumental in his guidance.
Father-son combo Peter and Jacob Lawrence can thank John Bowe for his advice in building up a professional operation.
Jacob Lawrence leads the Am Cup standings and praised Bowe for aiding in building up Randall Racing.
“It’s been good,” Lawrence summarised the season so far.
“It started off with not knowing where we were going to be and we had a bit of success at the start, which was a great way to begin the journey.
“JB’s been very instrumental to getting this off the ground and working. Definitely couldn’t have done it without him.”
Lawrence highlighted professionalism as a key area to build on for the team and he hopes will lead to increased competitiveness against the Pro-Am and Silver Cup competitors.
“We’ve just been building top from there with the team, set-up and the BMWs,” said Lawrence.
“We continue to grow and learn as we try to be a professional outfit. For me, the ultimate goal is to take out the Am Cup, which we are working hard towards. However, we want to get closer to the Pro-Am and Silver combinations, so by the end of the season we want to be decreasing the gap to them, which we’re working hard towards.
Randall Racing will be in Monochrome GT4 Australia for a while to come as demonstrated by its two current model BMW M4 GT4 G82s and a new bespoke transporter.
“This is definitely a long-term journey for dad (Peter) and I to just keep growing in this,” Lawrence revealed.
“We’re having an absolute ball
“We’ve finally got our new truck, which we ordered at the start of the year and the boys at Panton Hill (Welding Services) sorted it out making everything much easier for future rounds.”
